Research and clinical progress is Surgeons (AANS) meeting presented American Association of neurological experts by NYU Langone


Neurosurgeons of NYU Langone Medical Center are techniques represent and discuss surgical approaches and applications of the technology at the annual meeting of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), April 9-13, 2011 is held Convention Center in Denver at the Colorado.

The Department of neurosurgery at the NYU Langone Medical Center was recognized as one of the top ten hospitals in the country for Neurology and Neurosurgery US News & world report for the last three years. This year, the Department expanded its expertise with the addition of several renowned experts.

John G. Golfinos, MD, Associate Professor and head, Department of neurosurgery, NYU Langone Medical Center is often used at a symposium on the subject and unusual surgical approaches to the lateral skull base conditions. Dr. Golfinos and several other NYU Langone school, stand for comment during and after the meeting, including: Jeffrey Wisoff, MD, Associate Professor of Pediatric Neurosurgery and former Chairman which discuss common section of Pediatric Neurosurgery of the AANS, a symposium current evaluation and management of low grade glioma tumors is involved. Anthony Frempong-Boadu, MD, Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery and an expert in the spine, minimally invasive operations, which help to teach a clinic comparing traditional and minimally invasive surgical approaches for spine surgery, including the latest techniques and instruments; and operations effectively manage the participation in a seminar on complex spine. Chandranath Sen, MD, a faculty member and Director of benign brain tumor and cranial nerve disorders Leisure programs at NYU Langone participated in a seminar on the pathological conditions and appropriate application of new technologies on anterior cranial base problems; and a second seminar on anatomy and surgical approaches for the large venous sinus and veins of the brain. Noel Perin, MD, FRCS (ED), FACS, a faculty member and Director of minimally invasive spinal neurosurgery at NYU Langone, teaches a clinic at Crainovertebral junction surgical approaches and the identification and treatment of craniocervical lesions; and participation in a seminar on the clinical and imaging characteristics of Forminal and far lateral lumbar disc Herniations and current surgical techniques. Howard A. Riina, MD, FACS, the newest member of the Faculty and expert in cerebrovascular and Endovascular neurosurgery, gives a talk on the management of giant aneurysms.
